If you can understand each other. I tend to ask a lot of questions, so would like correct answer to the questions I was asking.
Not to mention if she is licensed to practice in the US, she probably speaks better English than you. Now, turn your head and cough twice.

I bet everyone in the US would like that opportunity

Yes, you are correct, but a misdiagnosis could be lethal. I live in a city that trains a lot of foreign students into that profession, and believe me, you have to intently listen, and sometimes have to interpret what they are saying, or they you.

If it's quality care, I wouldn't mind having doctors from India, Nicaragua, Japan, China, or even Canada.
bbsam,

Missed the main point.

Doctors have fled various countries -like Canada --to participate in the Free Market.

If the U.S. "CLOSES" one of the last free markets and severely limits what a Doctor can earn --we will see fewer doctors =rationing of care.

I thought they had already gone to the single payer.

I do know that they are having a problem with treating heroin addicts.

UPS,

With such a small population --I would not have figured a heroin addict problem --that is not good to hear !!!

As you know many young people today -even the well to do are experimenting with heroin --the latest casualty was the talented Hollywood actor.

Many of the heroin addicts treated in Vermont are from out of state.

I'm ok with that. Let the doctors work in inferior systems and we'll bring in another fine group. Maybe they will only earn $230,000 a year instead of a million. Global economy at work. ;)

We just had a 4 yr old beaten to death by one. I know how we could treat them at very little cost. Shoot them. Sorry, just a little raw right now. No touchy feely here.

Maybe the 1% of the doctors net $1M before taxes.
I think you are living in the past.
Most independent doctors pay more than $230,000 just for insurance.
Their practice may generate revenue of $1M but their net is already below $230,000.

Many doctors, probably greater than 50% now, are employees of some Medical group/corporation. 15 minutes per patient ... if the patient need is longer, schedule another appt 2 weeks out. Refer to specialist.

bbsam,

On "the other side" I believe that with College, Medical School, Residency --all the rising costs of School + Care ---there will be no "other fine group" -they simply will not bother ----some are dedicated ---MOST are dedicated and Money matters !!! We are already seeing Doctor shortages.

The only reason "foreign" doctors were Immigrating here --was to get away from Government Oppression--limiting there earning potential.

bbsam,

If you are suffering from a life threatening illness --hours count --never mind waiting two weeks or more --a lot wrong with a system going in that direction ---because more and more people expect everything to be free for them --the harder the workers work --the quality of the system is diluted --not to take care of the poor ---but to be dragged down by the lazy and now people "choosing" to work less --but want the same healthcare I worked lots of overtime for !!

There is something wrong with that type of system.
