Seniority...... who's got what???

Seniority where I am is based on:

  • Total voters
    69
Earlier in this thread someone said that isn't accurate. That it's not only for classification changes. It's for everything. Package to package transfers.

And if it was for package to package transfers, what's to stop someone who I beat out for my bid route 2 years ago because they were a transfer to say, I want that route. I have more seniority?
What bldg are you out of?

The National Negotiating Committee covers national and local issues. East Coast Navy you are oblivious if the company doesn't always ask for anything we bring up at the table. How do you say no one gets kicked back, but you want to carry company seniority to anywhere we transfer to??? What about safety? 2080 hours ???

So your saying that someone who transfers from package to feeders his company time should count but someone transferring from one center to another his company time shouldn't count? What's the difference?how can you pick and choose whose company time counts and whose doesn't?
You still didn't answer Myyyy question... Why does it happen now? Why can you carry feeder to feeder but not package to package?

Yes I did its so one sided for all of you who have passed it up so many times or the knuckleheads who came on and now came back and who think they should jump back up. Again you are all selfish!

Man this guy Rama sounds angry calling people Liars selfish ,I don't think he understands the way a union works ,it's a democratic system where every member has one vote and if majority of members vote a certain way, that's the way it usually goes ,if you don't like a democratic system like we have here at the teamsters you shouldn't be in a union, go to FedEx

I am not angry at all. So here is one question for the Local 177 carry company seniority to any classification is how would no one be kicked back to package from feeders if you don't red line it? Please explain I may be missing your point.

Language we have allows us to bid only within classification... If some one were to get kicked back to package from feeder, you would have bidding out side of classification... So all that's being asked for is if someone wants to be in another classification they will have to transfer. Then they will carry over your their seniority..

I'm completely confused. If the bidding language isn't changed, then what is it for? why have one seniority list if bidding isn't changed? What's the point? That doesn't make sense. Vacations are already chosen by company seniority. What are you gaining by one seniority list if bidding isn't changed?

If you rebid every two years than yes someone you had more seniority over last time may have more this time. It only makes sense. Let's say you have a 22.3 that came over awhile back. You had him beat before because all his years didn't count. Well they count now.

I have no dog in this fight but to think that a change like this will not affect you because you're not in feeder is not very bright.

Think about the other fulltimers that have wanted to go into driving but don't wanna start at the bottom. Well here they come. ;)

I knew that, but no one who is already in there classification should not be affected going forward IF the seniority is changed from classification to company seniority. So therefore, you have to red line it. Change should be going forward not backwards as in the members who have been in this present system.
