I wouldn't believe a word Zuckerman says. And O'Brien, well he said he wouldn't negotiate past August 1st.
O'Brien wants an agreement before August 1st. Let's say he gets a handshake agreement from UPS before August 1st. How long will it take to print the contract, mail it and have us vote on it?
He never said what he would, or would not do, if he reached an agreement with the Company that he is satisfied with before August 1st, and then we turned it down at a later date.
He only said that he will not negotiate past August 1st. Meaning that if UPS does not agree to a contract, he will call a strike. If they agree to a contract and we turn it down, I guarantee you that it will not be an immediate strike.
Dude, I tried explaining how bad this would be to guys at our small center. When I pointed to the last guy who would probably be laid off, a good handful of faces changed pretty quick. We don't want this.If there’s a handshake agreement before August 1 you’ll be working
SMH
Some folks don’t seem to understand the ramifications of a strike

AmenAll this vote does is give the Negotiating Committee the ability to call a strike if they ultimately reach an impasse.
It doesn't even mean a strike is imminent.
What I can tell you is, that if you don't give this Committee this leverage (strike authorization) at the bargaining table,....
....you better be prepared take what is finally brought to your table and vote yes.
There is no place for scared money at the poker table, believe that.
As I read some of the replies on this thread, all I can do is shake my head.Amen

It's kinda like they want Hoffa back?
Zero chance of that for me, I supported Sean as soon as he came out against PVDs. In any organization asking the tough questions is important because iron sharpens iron.As I read some of the replies on this thread, all I can do is shake my head.

No matter what happens it has to be better than what Denis T. “Negotiated”….Zero chance of that for me, I supported Sean as soon as he came out against PVDs. In any organization asking the tough questions is important because iron sharpens iron.
Throughout all the years of Hoffa, you were either a yes, man or you were on the outside looking in, they were absolutely questions you could never ask. It created a weak union.
Sean is in charge, and his decision is final and I will back him, but I might ask questions along the way.
People don't understand. As I read some of the replies on this thread, all I can do is shake my head.

Probably why the vote totals have been so low so many times. Same ones would never come to a union meeting ever.People don't understand.
Even some of the older drivers I talked to are afraid to give a strike authorization.
Unbelievable
I told the people if you can't vote Yes then please don't vote at allProbably why the vote totals have been so low so many times. Same ones would never come to a union meeting ever.
Father or son ?As I read some of the replies on this thread, all I can do is shake my head.

I was talking about junior in this instance.Father or son ?
It's a negotiating tool. How are you supposed to vote yay or nay on a strike without knowing what the contract is on the table
Ohh gotcha that makes senseIt's a negotiating tool.
