How many drivers would work 70 hrs a week?during peak the hours go up but that is for a few weeks after all that is what we do provide a service during our Christmas rush

Hey @scratch You want to tell him how your building every single driver worked 70 hours every week of peak and I believe even some weeks after peak? I know every driver here except for the ones that called out sick every Saturday worked 70hrs all through peak. That was 7 weeks here.

She never addresses the elephant in the room, “if work is available” on Monday/Tuesday. I would imagine you could get 10-20% of people to change their vote to yes if you just removed that language and guaranteed M-friend 8hrs a day in the Master.

You’d still have enough of the go home crowd that you do now.
Now that is a great point

What would the company want in return
How about taking a dollar off starting rate since starting rate is mostly a non member thing. I’d offer a suggestion of catering more to those that are actually able to vote. And the starting rate is being used as a “get” for us, when it is a company “get”.

They listened to these guys ?
They were evidently manipulated as to what the contract says (and doesn’t say). They obviously didn’t do their research.

Why does the company have to have something in return? What did they “give” us to try to push 22.4s through? Nothing! They bumped the part time rate for new hires to $13. Big deal! They need to do that just to attract workers! They bumped the pension $400 in 2020. Big Deal! They only bumped the 30 and 35 year pension. How many people busting their asses with todays loads and hours are going to ever see those pensions? Some will, but the vast majority won’t make it that many years befor their bodies fall apart. Why didn’t they bump the 25 year pension? Because thats a more realistic number that most people can probably achieve, so that would actually cost them real money. Our raises are pretty much the usual that we are given, so no big “give” by the company there.
So we have made HUGE concessions for nothing out of the ordinary in return. Time to vote NO and go back to the drawing board!

Is it 104 in Phoenix aren't you under the same supplemental Riders as me?

If so how do you not have PT cover drivers?

Yes I am..

We have "swing" drivers. They go through the same progression as any other driver. Not long ago, almost all the "swing" drivers were at top pay.

Our cover drivers make 85% top pay. Here in the south, we have had cover drivers the longest, well before the ‘97 strike when the language started to spread throughout the country. The company has always abused the language and used them for more then they are supposed to. Our covers have 9.5 protection, only of they are covering the same route all week, but that can all be at the sups discretion, so not real 9.5 protection.
The problem is, now PTs will have to become a cover driver and then a 22.4 driver before finally making it to RPCD. That could realistically be 5-10 years with no protections and sub standard pay.

They’re either bidded RPCD’s, swinging RPCD’s or air drivers.

That is so strange. You are in the Southwest Package Rider correct? How is it we have bidded RPCDs, Utility Drivers, Cover Drivers and air drivers.

I don't see swing driver anywhere in the Southwest Package Rider.

First off, that lady doesn’t know her ass from her elbow. TCD’s get better pay, pension, health and 9.5 protections. 224’s don’t. Look, some locals are trying to get “noticed” by the IBT (example @Tony Q). They are so worried about UPS going under that UPS gave every PT sup a $3 and hour raise. I cannot believe the state of some of these unions. So elected officials would crumble pulling a route.
She is twisting his words. He wasn’t saying the 22.4’s (Hybrids) are to replace RPCD’s ( regular package car driver), he was saying RPCD’s who are wanting 22.3 (inside combo jobs) will no longer get them because the 22.4 (Hybrid drivers) will consume those jobs.
