Voting Starts Next Week! How will you vote and why.

Richard Harrow

Deplorable.
Yea, we might need you Sunday too.

Here's how it works.

I'm not a part of a team. I'm a mercenary. A soldier of fortune. I work for my family, I sell my time to UPS. If I don't want to sell my time on any given day, I just call up and tell them as much lol.

My time is not for sale on Black Friday.

Actually I made $62k last year working PT.

Thanks for caring for others. This is not only about you, me. Its everyone involved. This contract is not right for most of them. Tyler, and I like most of others well paid dont have the rights to brag about what we make. Put it them inferior like we are superior than anybody else. We need to stand for others, most current part timers are working for pennies. RPCD and 22.4 creates division between them. Feeders with this subcontractor getting screw. Language in this contract is absurd. Nothing is guarantee. Lets stop being selfish and stand for our Teamsters Members. Vote No

Come on guys, stop i haven't got my ballot yet. Im so jealous of you all I wanted to be the first NO vote.
Being serious for a sec my wife asked what i wanted for my birthday this year and without missing a beat i said to vote no. Then dinner and a weekend with her and later party with friends and family.
Boy I love a good no vote however I think you should of told her you want something with her wearing high heels a mini skirt and lots of makeup

a person works the hours that person deserves the money earned.......no issue with that at all....I say initiative

This is about fairness not equality. We understand part timers will earn less but the existing old par timers need a catch up .70 cents? Common!!! They do all the hard work sweating, loading trucks for pennies. Thats an insult to their intelligence. This contract is very bad for them and all others. Numbers and contract language doesn't match. Dennis Taylor look at the numbers to his favor not to Teamsters Members. Vote No.

Wow,
My supplement sucks.
20 min extra pay?
I cant believe all the perks other areas get for voting no on a consistent basis.
Sounds like voting no on master and yes on supplement is a bad idea if you actually want anything. Don't get any of the bribes the other areas get for voting yes on the master, and you're at the mercy of the rest of the country to keep that :censored2: no, or you get nothing in the end.

Better get nothing and get fairness. For some change while they do better in this lousy contract.

I can argue all day that PT workers should not be making $52k a year, that's not what the market dictates and that's not good business. I can argue that PT should not be starting at $31 per hour, as his logic suggests.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure his logic is just that starting wage adjusted for inflation would be $31 an hour to put into perspective how amazing the starting pay was 40-50 years ago, not that it should be $31 an hour, because that would be pretty silly these days.

What I don't get is why it's not at least $15. People have been fighting for a $15 wage as the ideal minimum living wage for years now, and ups used to pay new hires WAY better than that. As it stands with this contract, new hires will basically get to look forward to barely making more than my city's current minimum wage. Right now, Portland's minimum is $12, and it'll be $14.75 in 2022, compared to ups's $13-$15.50. We have extreme trouble holding onto new hires right now because the minimum wage means they could go somewhere else and make basically the same money with a fraction of the work and stress, and I don't see this contract changing that.

At the very least new hires should get GWI as well (or rather, which ever is greater, the bump or GWI, since there's one year with a dollar raise instead of 50 cents).

If you give GWI for new hires what do you expect for current employees working for .70. All others jump right away $13.00 newbies and current newbies less than $13. Every single employee gets money. Not mentioning Supervisors that they are not part of the union and getting a jump start of 18 + and some $1,000 bonuses holding a clipboard and screaming to part timers..Smh...This is about fairness not equality.
