RUN AWAY
Beat me too it! That’s what they told me 30 years ago, run before you start making money and get trapped. But did I listen? Lol. Today I would run!
Hi @burrheadd, no clue what you mean by that but I seem to recall seeing a thread in the FedEx forums about taking massive stinkies in the truck that I think would be more to your liking. I'll bet they even have crayons and coloring books over there just for you! He’s the Captain of Qwerks
I was thinking the same thing. Work part time and get your degree in IT or coding.Finish school and get out of here
Resident Brown Cafe question-asker.What's your job?
That's good advice. I would also add find out who the stewards are and ask them to tell you about the working environment with management. I had no idea what it meant to join a union when I first started and I would guess most people just starting out don't know either.Join the union.
Get a contract book, and learn it.
That way you know what your rights are.
Otherwise management will tell you what they think your rights are.
If management says they have to speak to you about an "issue" demand a steward!
Dont yourself during a long shiftAnd, what's something you wish somebody had told you when you first started?
How true. I've seen so many marriages bust up. Long term marriages. Seems that the wives love the money & benefits but eventually get fed up running the household and raising kids by themselves. If you're in a relationship, be sure to spend quality time with your partner when and as often as you can. Ups drivers have a very high divorce rate. We are worked hard, and it's easy to bring that stress home. Learn to leave that stress at the door.
Meanwhile, our "hard working management team" is home in the bed by 3pm year round. Go rot in a sack, mfers. Hope they die a slow death and take their stock with them. How true. You’ll always have workgo to school for HVAC
Well common sense isn't all that common. That's disturbing and depressing. I hope you have enough time in to leave soon.
Sounds like something people with common sense shouldn't need to be told?
