Where, Oh Where, is my DIAD?

Here's a photo of an ice covered road that I drive on almost every day. Today the ice was cracked and I couldn't believe how thick it was! I used the DIAD as a measuring device. The ice was 1 DIAD4 and 2" thick. I think we have a new unit of measurement. How many DIAD4s in a mile? The photo isn't too clear but the DIAD is actually 2 inches below the top of the ice!

If you rolled an ankle walking over that crack, would ups file a work comp claim against the city/township that has jurisdiction over that road? There sure as heck isn't a hand rail there.
