If you have not done this job , not a chance in Earth that you know what I need.

I don't need AC, yes it would be nice but I think many other drivers would agree with me that we just need some ventilation.
It is true I have not delivered for an extended period of time but you are wrong about your first point. There is a way on earth that I can form an opinion regarding the need for the company to step up and air condition all their vehicles.

You are entitled to pursue the cause in any way you please as am I.

I agree better ventilation would definitely be an improvement.

Do you need an air compressor or tire gauge

To all of you saying that AC wouldn't work or would be useless.....Really!? Has this company really brainwashed you that bad?

While I half ass-edly agree that it wouldn't cool down the entire truck, to say it would do nothing is asinine. Just having one vent on the dash blowing cold air would do wonders. Think about it for a minute. Might not cool off a large enough area, but it'll def. cool down what's in front of it. No one's looking for a climate controlled environment; we just want some relief. Think of it like a fan, but not just blowing the hot air around that everyone complains about.

As for the impracticality of cooling the back... It's not that big of an area, and really not hard to do at all. There are plenty of AC units designed for campers, even some very low profile ones that would be wayyy more than adequate to cool that area. Also, Lots of trailers have refrigeration units on them. It's not an impossibility.

I see cab A/C as the most practical step, but I will say this. We have not had AC before, but we have not had a lot of things before...not until they became commonplace, cheap and expected by just about everyone. Power steering, lower steps, keyless entry, back up cameras, gps, automatic transmissions, hell we're even getting new uniforms. The trucks we use will in our lifetime have A/C, but it probably won't be because we want it. It will be because our customers demand it. Think about it, shipping and home delivery has exploded, and it isn't going away. More and more people don't want to be bothered to go to a store. What's the next largest untapped segment in home delivery? FOOD. You can get just about everything delivered now. You see all the paper towels, tp and dog food we deliver. People are lazy, it's only a matter of time before we click a few things on-line and bamm...fridge is stocked lol. Combine that with medicine; UPS is going to need to think about climate control in the near future.

When it gets hot enough and I start feeling rough I will simply cool off a little in the a/c at customer locations. Will also carry ice water and a wash cloth. It does slow my day down, but that's the way it goes if you wish for me not to have a/c in the package car.
This. I send a message almost daily during the summer that I’m at a customer inside ac cooling off, or I’m parked in shade with the doors open to cool off the rear. Never have been told anything about it. It’s our right, and osha will agree.

Also, to all the og, honesty stfu. This job was much different year ago. I used to drive with the bulk head open all the time, and ever few stops I would drive with both doors open to air on the back. On top of that, you didn’t have to dig for Orion crap, and in general the work load and hours workered were much lower.
