I had a '71. GM replaced the front fenders under warranty even though I bought it used. Not a bad driving car, not quite a sports car, but way more fun than the typical sedan of the era.

Maintenance was a pice of cake. Everything was accessible. The problem with the engine was the aluminum block didn't play nice with the cast iron head.
What was wrong with the fenders? A cousin of mine bought one and the engine went bad. An aluminum block with an iron head is an odd combination. I wish our LS engines (especially the 4.8s) had iron heads.

As I remember, there was nothing but primer on the inner side. Add Northeast salt and no drains in the bottom, instant rust.

Thanks for the interest but I'll be keeping it for a while I expect. I want another but an older two door with manual transmission.

*Lots of Jeeps around Western Ohio considering they were made in Toledo. ;)

Just remember----Jeep is a 4-letter word. They have been known to nickel and dime you to death.

I owned one Jeep---that was enough. Just like owning a VW---never again. I'm sure there are good ones out there but that wasn't my experience.

Oh, it's not neglected. All I'm aware of is a sticky/leaky master cylinder. It stays in a 3 car garage under a cover. It was restored by prison inmates in the 90's.

Prisoners? Check the brake lines to see if they have been cut or a stick of dynamite has been wired to the ignition.
