Protesters are expected to gather Thursday evening at the White House as part of a national “Day of Rage” over the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teen earlier this month in Missouri.


The planned rally is among dozens around the nation organized by the group Anonymous, which is demanding the “immediate arrest and prosecution” of officer Darren Wilson. Wilson has been identified as the officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9, touching off violent protests in the streets of Ferguson, Mo.

“We call upon the citizens of the United States to collectively gather in support for those who are suffering in Ferguson,” a voice claiming to represent Anonymous says in a video posted to YouTube. “We must indeed all hang together as one nation or most assuredly we will all hang separately.”

The rally is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m., according to a list of protests in more than 40 major cities around the country

The grand jury may start as early as next Wednesday but won't be completed until October they said. Better to be slow but thorough. Some people will get impatient and want Wilson charged immediately but these things take time. As they should. If the evidence shows the shooting was justified then no charges should be filed but this is already smelling like a political trial.

Brown was stopped by police in broad daylight for walking in the road.

Whatever you think of Brown, be honest enough to admit that if he had been a white dude, this never would have happened.

Mike Brown's shooting has set off some fireworks in the Ferguson community, no doubt, and that's a good thing.

The looters from other towns are a-hole idiots, but the legitimate protests and civil disobedience are a valid reaction to yet another unarmed black man shot dead by the cops, and to a longstanding disparity in Ferguson between the racial make-up of the community and that of the police force.

Brown just stealing from that store is very important because it affects his state of mind over being stopped by a cop.

I am white, hence I wouldn't have been stopped by the cops.

We may never know what happened between Officer Wilson and Mike Brown, but where I'm from, death isn't an appropriate punishment for shoplifting, but again, that's not why Brown was stopped.

He was stopped for a non-offense, walking in the street.

Again, if he had been a white dude, he wouldn't have been stopped.

What 18-year old Black man in America goes for a cop's gun?

Unless drugs were involved (haven't heard anything about toxicology reports), I have a difficult time believing the cops' narrative.
