I am guessing Monday or Tuesday. When it does happen it will be with little advance notice. There will still be riots regardless of the outcome. Many of the so call protestors are there from out of town just waiting for an excuse to loot or burn. It won't matter to them if it is a protest or celebration occurring.

"Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson is reportedly in the final stages of a decision to resign from the St. Louis suburb’s force, even as America anxiously awaits the decision of a Missouri grand jury on whether to charge Mr. Wilson in the August killing of black teen Michael Brown."

His resignation will do little to defuse the situation. As oldngray said, there are out of towners looking for any reason to riot. This is not their town and they couldn't care less the carnage that they leave behind when they are through.

Send him out to Arizona to help Sheriff Joe.

I've heard law enforcement will be told of the grand jury decision at least a day before it's released publicly. It's a move that makes sense especially with such a charged situation, but ultimately I feel it's going to backfire because someone is going to leak it before public release and the plans for whatever the outcome won't be fully implemented before the protesters move on the leak.

If he is innocent, he should be able to work anywhere. Anyone giving him any crap, should be dealt with harshly.
I agree that if he's declared to have acted lawfully and not charged by the grand jury he should be able to work anywhere. Problem is there's too many in the court of public opinion that have deemed him guilty regardless so even if he goes to work somewhere else people are going to cause him problems. His career in law enforcement is essentially over because of the groups that deem him guilty no matter what.

Not yet. Sadly our government is keeping the grand jury proceedings secret.

Grand juries do not determine guilt or innocence but rather determine whether there exists enough evidence to hold the case over for trial. This subtlety will be lost on those in Ferguson who will consider a decision to hold the case over for trial to be a guilty verdict for Wilson.

Prosecution has a huge advantage in a grand jury where they get to present the facts in a way to make the accused appear as guilty as possible and the defense has no chance to counter those arguments. All a grand jury does is decide whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. If a grand jury decides against prosecution that indicates an extremely weak case. But this is a political trial with pressure to proceed even if the facts don't warrant it. If it does go forward to a trial then there will be months of riots instead of the whole affair winding down after a brief period of violence.
