Went to single system Saturday
Not bad if the sections are 10 stops each
Sucks not having a map overview, but I took the preliminary manifest and looked thru it
I paid attention to the package counts of each stops n fine sort on the floor based on sid...
A couple had no pal stickers.
A few weren't scanned to the manifest, and I have to add them to the scanner during the day
A few were missing from the manifest, but I had no idea until I drove to the stops, then started looking for the box. Ugh... So now I'm going to verify each section as I preload them...wasting my time.
A misload from my neighboring route was in my pile, didn't catch it until I was on the road.. gotta pay attention to that as well on Tuesday.
Proprietary cable to link the Motorola power pad to my Garmin GPS 55 & 58 worked well
It had a few stops that were missing from the un scanned boxes, so I added them& drag/ drop to the proper sequence.
A few stops on there I was missing the box for
I wish I can move the sid # next to the package counts on the scanner.
Easy transition otherwise
I see why they went to this system.
Reduce paper, reduce hours of a ground warehouse worker, not paying the third party vendors of that vrp system anymore
Wasting more time for drivers to preload their own vehicles, with no extra compensation is the only bad thing
1 box was mis sort to another town 20 miles away... dex 012 it since I'm not hourly
I'm a visual person, if I can only get a big picture of the map overview, then I can effectively load my cargo to my customers' needs. Butt oh well, if I can't get to business stops with banker hours in time... It goes for a ride the next day.
I thought the loader will pack the step vans for those drivers... nope! Or maybe they are in transition to hire more people
