Do you believe the Jews were under the Old Law or do you think somebody was telling the priests as they poured over the Torah that they didn't believe in words written by men? I'm relying on the scriptures that GOD gave us, not on my own narcissistic ego that thinks I know better about what God really wants from us. If you love your neighbor as Christ loves you then you wouldn't steer him away from God's written word.

By the way the New Testament doesn't say anywhere that Jesus would ever return to walk on the physical Earth after he ascended into Heaven. He'll return on the Day of Judgement and we'll meet him in the air.
Do you love your neighbor as Christ loves you?

I did not see your answer.

We are told by Jesus to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. And to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Matthew 22: 37-40
This is the actual verse:

Matthew 22:37-40
English Standard Version

37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

You should be aware that the scriptures are written for Jews to Jews.

It would also be important to note that Jews would rebuke each other in love when they were doing something wrong or against the written law.

Love does not mean telling someone everything they’re doing is OK.

The Old Testament certainly was but the Church was opened to the Gentiles and the Apostle Paul wrote to Gentile congregations also.

True for the Old Testament but not the New. OT is not written to Christians but are written for them. Not to be used for doctrine though.
Very true, but that particular scripture was directed at a Pharisee, who was to love his neighbor, which would’ve been Jewish as himself. Loving Someone as yourself who was a different religion at that time would get you killed.

Cue the "that is your understanding of it but not mine."
I love my kids, but when they were little, I would chastise them if they were going to touch a hot stove because that’s what love would do I wouldn’t want them to be burned. I wouldn’t just tell them don’t worry go ahead and do what you want, that is not love.

My understanding is God came to the world through Jesus His Son to reveal to the world Himself. Jesus came to fulfill the law. He clearly tells us that in His 2 commandments.

I appreciate and respect your understanding of God.

God did not send His love, Jesus, to condemn the world, He sent Him to save it.

Have you experienced this living salvation?

Of course, so you do understand that in order to be saved, you would need to first be someone who understands they are in need of being saved. It would be very difficult to do that by telling someone everything they’re doing is right, or even OK. It would be very difficult to do that by telling someone in their head is the Holy Spirit when not everyone hears from the Holy Spirit.

My faith and belief is that Jesus is the living Word made flesh. The perfect image of the unseen God. He is alive today.

That is my understanding at least.

I suspect @Integrity believes there’s many paths to heaven. The point I’m making is loving someone does not mean telling them everything they’re doing is correct when it will damn them. The term “love” is misunderstood.
I believe in triune God, I believe that there are many paths to God, as I understand, believe, and put my faith, yes.

When the love of Jesus and the saving faith in Christ comes to a person, what exactly has the power to damn them.

My understanding is nothing.

Matthew 7:13-14

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Would you judge them, condemn them, stop loving them for touching the hot stove?

or would you rescue them, love them, and administer first aid their wound?

Would they cease to be your child because they touched the hot stove?

What “hot stoves“ have you touched in your life?

What “hot stoves“ are you currently, not only touching, but clinging to in your imperfection?

No, you never stop loving and you never stop caring. You also never stop telling them the truth about right and wrong even if they don’t agree with you. Some people call that being hateful when you tell them they’re wrong.
