When I was 27 I had a delivery to an office in downtown Seattle. When I arrived the secretary of that office had just returned from lunch. She was in her car, door open, and four street bums were at the door. One was about a 6'6" Native American who was touching her and talking dirty to her. She looked very scared. I had a milk crate that I had my documents in. Emptied it and walked over to them with the intention to use the crate upside their heads. I asked if there was a problem and they took a look at me and walked away. The Indian was angry but the other three pushed him along. I'm no hero, just the guy who came along at that moment.
I commend you for the action taken.

I think a new world will arise out of the religious mists when we approach our
Bible with the idea that it is not only a book which was once spoken, but a book
which is now speaking. The prophets habitually said, "Thus saith the Lord."
They meant their hearers to understand that God's speaking is in the continuous
present. We may use the past tense properly to indicate that at a certain time a
certain word of God was spoken, but a word of God once spoken continues to be
spoken, as a child once born continues to be alive, or a world once created
continues to exist. And those are but imperfect illustrations, for children die and
worlds burn out, but the Word of our God endureth forever.

In all our studies of the work of the blessed Spirit, and in our pursuit of a life in His fullness, we will always find the sum of Christ‘s teaching in these wonderful words: “He who believes in Me, as the
Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). As we are convicted of the defectiveness of our faith in Christ and as we understand that believing in Him means a yielding of the whole heart, life, and will, we can confidently count on receiving the Holy Spirit‘s power and presence. When Christ becomes all that God has made Him to be for us, the Holy Spirit can then flow
from Christ to do His blessed work of leading us back to know Him better and to believe in Him more completely.
The book of Hebrews speaks of Christ in His heavenly glory and power as the object of our faith. The Holy Spirit reveals the way into the Holiest by the blood of Christ and invites us by faith in Christ to have our life there. As we yield our hearts to the leading of the Spirit to know Christ and to believe in what is revealed, the Spirit can take possession of us. The Spirit is given to reveal Christ, and every fully accepted revelation of Christ gives the Spirit room to dwell and work within us. This promise will surely then be fulfilled: “He who believes in Me,…out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” May God lead us to this simple and full faith in Christ, our great High Priest and King in the heavens, and so into a life in the fullness of the Spirit.

The Catholic Church was corrupted long ago. It's why there was a Protestant Reformation.
Yep, and even in those church’s , it’s full of sinners, if people have the idea that somehow people that go to church are better then those that don’t, then they are mistaken. Always trust, but verify with human beings.

I agree. I believe in the only perfect human Jesus, the perfect image of the unseen God. I believe and put all my faith and trust in Him alone. He is alive an His spirit abides with and in His creation.

That’s my understanding at least.

My observation is the Catholic Church has sought humility and is addressing some very serious failure of their past and present.

Unfortunately, any organization is ran by human beings, some people think that is reflection of what Christianity should be, and that is not true. Understandable but not true. Christians can be just as evil sometimes more than non-Christians. Thankfully, we have forgiveness and grace and mercy. Needs to be asked for.

Christians are under New Testament law.
That is your understanding. That is not my understanding.

I believe the Bible is meant to be taken as a complete religious text in the Judeo-Christian tradition useful for working on a relationship with God. The Judeo-Christian tradition is how many come to their understanding of God.

My understanding is that Christ is the end of the law, and Christians are justified by faith in Jesus Christ, not by observing the law.

The Voice of God is a friendly Voice. No one need fear to listen to it unless he
has already made up his mind to resist it. The blood of Jesus has covered not
only the human race but all creation as well."And having made peace through
the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say,
whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." We may safely preach a
friendly Heaven. The heavens as well as the earth are filled with the good will of
Him that dwelt in the bush. The perfect blood of atonement secures this forever.

Introduction

This book brings a simple but solemn message. The one thing needed for the church in its search for spiritual excellence is to be filled with the Spirit of God.

In order to secure attention to this message and attract the hearts of my readers to its blessing, I have laid particular emphasis on certain main points:

1. The will of God for every one of His children is that they live entirely and unceasingly under the control of the Holy Spirit.

2. Without being filled with the Spirit, it is
impossible for an individual Christian or a
church to ever live or work as God desires.

3. In the life and experience of Christians, this blessing is little used and little
searched for.

4. God waits to give us this blessing, and in our faith we may expect it with the greatest confidence.

5. The self-life and the world hinder and usurp the place that Christ ought to occupy.

6. We cannot be filled with the Spirit until we are prepared to yield ourselves to be led by the Lord Jesus—to forsake and sacrifice everything for this “pearl of great price” (Matt. 13:46).

The New Testament is about Christ's fulfillment of prophecy, his death doing away with the Old Law, and the establishment of his Church. We have freedom in Christ that we wouldn't have under the Old Law which was given to the Jews. There is nothing in the Old Law that we need that isn't covered by the New Law. But there is plenty that you should be thankful isn't required of us. It was known as the "law of sin and death." Under it you could be put to death for a number of offenses. You're an advocate for homosexuals. Under the Old Law if two men were found having sex they were to be put to death. That's not my interpretation. It not only says it but that was practiced. You can't get around that by saying that was some man's misinterpretation of what God wanted. Their law was given to them by Moses and the prophets who did speak directly with God. As Christians we learn from the Old Law. We learn about the lineage of Jesus. But we aren't bound by anything that isn't given to us in the New Testament.

My belief and faith is that we are not under a law, a writen code, tradition, or religious text.

We are under the law of the Spirit of life, the law of Christ. He is alive and He sums up the fulfillment of the law in the love of neighbor as yourself.

Do you love your neighbor as Christ loves you?

Do you believe the Jews were under the Old Law or do you think somebody was telling the priests as they poured over the Torah that they didn't believe in words written by men? I'm relying on the scriptures that GOD gave us, not on my own narcissistic ego that thinks I know better about what God really wants from us. If you love your neighbor as Christ loves you then you wouldn't steer him away from God's written word.

By the way the New Testament doesn't say anywhere that Jesus would ever return to walk on the physical Earth after he ascended into Heaven. He'll return on the Day of Judgement and we'll meet him in the air.
