One of my favorite lessons in the bible is when Jesus steps up when the woman was to be stoned. By custom she was to be stoned, but Jesus stepped up to defend her. She was a sinner and still He loved her.

The next thing He did in the story is overlooked by many now, which I feel divides our beliefs unnecessarily. He went to her and said "go and sin no more".

Many people wanted to condemn her, but Jesus stepped up to let us know we are all sinners, but He also told her to stop her sin.

What do you find the point of that story to be and how it relates to sin?

I absolutely have been saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit as I do believe you have. But yes, I do go to the gospels to try to learn what it considered to be sin as well as pray about it.

The point being is that we all sin and deserve forgiveness through grace. But it also comes with a responsibility to live as sinless a life as we can, especially willfully committing the same sins over and over.

Are both of us right if we walk and talk with Jesus and arrive at different conclusions as to what sin is or is not? I would feel horrible if I tried to help someone with guidance that would lead them in the wrong direction

But what do you consider to be sin that the Bible says is sin? And what do you consider to be not sin that the Bible says is sin? Missing the mark means we sin, no?
