Rittenhouse Trial

The average skateboard weighs around 11 pounds or 5 kilograms. The average crowbar weighs 1.32 pounds.

So, the average skateboard is more deadly than a crowbar.
I have to disagree with this. You're forgetting about air resistence, how much more energy is required to accelerate a heavier object (ie it will be traveling at a slower speed at impact), and how the impact force would be spread out over a larger area. That being said, I agree that either object being swung at my head would be considered deadly weapons and could kill me.

The prosecution was trying to bring in evidence in support of Huber’s custom of being a “hero” with noble intentions, because he was such a stand up guy.

The judge said he’d allow the testimony and the defense could respond. And the defense said, great, we’re going to tell the story about that cool time when Huber held a knife to his brother’s neck and stomach and threatened to gut him, the time he strangled someone, and the time he threatened to burn the house down with all his family members inside.

The prosecution ultimately chose not to introduce the story about Huber’s heroism in that instance.

You'd prefer a crowbar to the head over the edge of a skateboard?

Are you assuming it's being swung like a baseball bat?

Given the choice I'd take a skateboard. Either way the end result is going to suck. I don't think anyone swinging a skate board is going to try to hit you with the edge on purpose, they're just going to swing it at you as hard as they can; whatever orientation.

Funny that Rittenhouse didn't target anyone but those trying to hurt him.
Do you really believe a 17 year old has the maturity to know who is a real threat? If he did not have that military style assault rifle he would not have been a threat to anyone. There is a reason minors are not allowed to carry firearms without adult supervision.

Yah, he somehow zeroed in, immature as he was, on the guys chasing him, physically attacking him, pulling a gun on him. Guess he just got lucky.

So tell me, is he the domestic terrorist you and others claim he is, or is he just an immature kid who can't be held accountable for his actions?

Funny, if he hadn't brought that AR illegally to the protest this wouldn't have happened and he could just go about beating up little girls as usual.
He could have beaten up twenty little girls before that incident and it would still come down to whether he was justified in using deadly force to defend his life. What he did before has no more bearing on that situation than y'all pointing out that the one guy was a mental patient. Now if you have proof that one of those killed was the brother of that girl and he was looking to exact some revenge that might have some bearing. Still got him killed.

Never said he was a terrorist. He obviously got in way over his head and decided to pull the trigger and killed 2 people and permanently disabled another. Those are the facts.

If he had not been armed in that situation or had not been there at all we would not be having a trial. He made several bad decisions. The Courts found that he is old enough to face the consequences of his actions.

I'm wondering if a guy is trying to bash your head in, another is pulling a pistol, and you have a gun and believe you are about to be at the very least gravely injured, do you tell yourself that you have it coming because you shouldn't have been there to begin with? Do you just let them harm you, even kill you?

No different then a black teenager mixed up in a bad situation and ends up either killing someone or ends up on a slab.
