UPS hasn't bought any new pkg cars this year, avoiding promised AC.

If they want to give me a/c I’ll take it but to me the fans work just fine for me.Now it gets hot and humid here just have to pace yourself and drink water which I am not a big fan of,but most of us would agree that the hottest part of the job is being in the back of the package car.

Apparently, the company bought a bunch of new trucks without a/c and replacement parts to keep the current fleet moving., expect a/c in about 20 years or so.

Runner-Gunners totaling existing package cars might trim a year or two off that wait list.

Here we go...

Somewhat surprising that country wide, not one new pkg car has been added all year. However, also believable because we've seen more cuts this year than in a long time due to lost volume. Also follows the fact that UPS bought a ton of new ones through the pandemic when volume shot up.

Seems like the union is expecting UPS to just replace vehicles with plenty of service life left just to fulfill the AC agreement. That's not how this works. The fleet is younger than I've ever seen and I was expecting to wait 10 years to see AC commonplace.
Customers that asked about this when it was announced, I let them know we will be getting a couple AC package cars in about a decade and I would probably not see an AC package car my entire career.

That’s alright for me personally, AC never been much of a concern.
