If UPS had a lick of sense, they would have bought Kohls, and Sears, turned their stores into a holding facility for common commodities and given customers next day service on many items.
They could have also bought large warehouses stocked with these same commodities and have a feeder trailer pull every night.
We already had the transportation part and sort facilities taken care of, maybe add a few vehicles and routes.
Instead we let amazon grow so big that they even supplied tens of thousands of vehicles and drivers while we catered to them.
Imagine the online sales from.......wait for it............ a "UPS Store". Instead we did that with a Pak-n -Mail when we already have delivery centers with customer counters.
