Contract talks

Brownslave688

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
You might want to verify that.

Health and Welfare payments....

Ok.

(Under the old company plan)

Pension contributions ?

Not a chance.

Been verified over and over. It's why we never open up our local contract for renegotiation. We know that'll be the first thing to go.

It's why we filed hundreds of grievances against teamcare. I know sad that we have to file against our own Union. The working one day a week to keep healthcare should not apply to us. Since if we work 1 day a month the company pays for the whole month.

That's the problem with you baby boomers. You think you're entitled to everything.

Back in my day we didn't get to retire. You work till you die! You old people are ruining this country. Should have learned from your parents and stuffed your mattresses full of money.

Curious to see what most people feel out there about the upcoming contract for me it's definitely retirement unfortunately being in the central states pension fund the Teamsters let us down and current retirees and pension funds will go belly up in seven years leaving retirees with nothing and those of us getting ready to retire have an a portion of their retirement taking away also I truly believe those retirees will lose out UPS will not give the shortfall with this new upcoming contract that's my personal opinion and that's sad but we must change with the current times keep in mind I know some people will say we are screwing fellow Teamsters but if we really are true Teamsters shouldn't we all be in a pension fund together we all take a little bit of a loss I would be willing to lose 100 or $200 a month for my pension if everybody who was a teamster did and nobody would lose their pension entirely but that will never happen I had said earlier the tiered system the new drivers will never see the current rate of pay that we make and a 401(k) match there will be no more UPS retirement I know some of you may feel as though that is screwing other upcoming UPSers but we must be proactive as the future of this company and not stick our heads in the sand I know everyone feels though UPS makes billions of dollars in which they do but they do it from separate entities please understand that yes the money originally came from UPS but as times have changed the profitability and just package delivery has decreased For UPS understanding that our wages Health and welfare have skyrocketed and other carriers not anywhere as close so yes those changes need to take place in order for us to be competitive and save the current retirement of those already working what might be your thoughts
We have to sell out retirees and new hires so we can get more!

Most PT Employees are kids with no degree just looking for a paycheck. They come and go. It's only the smart ones that realize that if you stick with something, it will pay off. And those people know how to make part time work pay off.
Couldn't agree more.you cant just walk in the door and make the big bucks.you have to earn it the hard way.like myself and many others have done.

The guy is acting like UPS's profits haven't gone up every single year.

ONTOPIC: 9.5 list language needs to be stronger. Make it opt out and pay triple time for anything over 9.5 hours. Another 2 or 3 weeks of vacation for everyone as well. This will allow UPS to have a large host of cover drivers that will be used year round and during peak everyone will be able to drive daily.

Corporate Chode if you are still listening take that to your boss and pass it off as your idea.

Ups profits continue to rise year after year.ups shipping rates continue to climb as well.so tell me why the union would agree to a 2 tier pay scale. Unless ups is sliding them money under the table.and judging by the last contract wouldnt surprise me!
