I suspect he might hear this some day

Mathew 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Not according to my belief, faith and trust in the complete and finished work of Jesus the Christ on the cross, His resurrection fro the dead, His perfect life and His Spirit that lives with and in me.

That’s my understanding, at least.

Integrity is the perfect example of what the world thinks a Christian is. He’s not even close to the definition the Bible gives.
My understanding of God and being a Christian is different from yours.

I get it. I believe every person has their own personal relationship and understanding of God.

No, we're under the New Testament. Show me where God speaks directly to Christians? We aren't the Apostles.
That is your understanding , it is not mine. You reject the whole old testament as well as the many places God speaks, look it up my friend.

He is a speaking God.

You reject it.

I don't reject the Old Testament. I read in the New Testament where the Old Law was done away with when Jesus died and was resurrected. The Old Testament is the law of the Jews. If you are as well read on the Bible as you claim you'd know this. Please show me where we are told that God speaks to us directly today? And he didn't speak directly to everyone in Old Testament times either. He spoke to the prophets and certain leaders. Nowhere does it say he spoke to everyone.

No thanks.

Your understanding of the God of a book and not the God of all creation is foreign to me.

It is quite the conundrum and a sad state when you are asking me and needing to be shown in a book where He says He will talk to you. That can only lead me to conclude that it is your unbelief that is preventing you from hearing from Him.

I understand God to be alive, active , and speaking into creation. You have shown me that you understand Him much differently than I do.

I will pray (talk to God) about furthering our relationship In moving forward in light of our significant difference in our understanding of Him.

Do you pray?

In the Scriptures there is practically no effort made to define faith. Outside of a
brief fourteen-word definition in Hebrews 11:1, I know of no Biblical definition,
and even there faith is defined functionally, not philosophically; that is, it is a
statement of what faith is in operation, not what it is in essence. It assumes the
presence of faith and shows what it results in, rather than what it is. We will be
wise to go just that far and attempt to go no further. We are told from whence it
comes and by what means: "Faith is a gift of God,” and "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.“ This much is clear, and, to paraphrase Thomas à Kempis, "I had rather exercise faith than know the definition thereof."
