Just because you’re in NY and you caved, doesn’t mean everyone else has to cave; this is the problem, don’t try and stomp on peoples freedom of choice cause you have none.

I did not "cave"-----I have three grandchildren and I am intelligent enough to know what to do in order to be safe around them; besides, both my daughter and daughter in law both told me I couldn't see them unless I was fully vaxed.

This hurts my heart to hear. There's a psycho lady in my neighborhood who won't let her mom see her kids, because her 60 year old yoga instructor super-fit mother isn't vaccinated. The kids are healthy and fine.

They live in the same neighborhood, less than half a mile apart. And they haven't been together in almost 2 years.

It's psychotic.

Then why has my 2.5 y/o grandchildren spent more time at home than at daycare the past year? It seems like almost every week either a kid or teacher is suspected of having Covid. Thank goodness my son and DIL have the flexibility to work from home.
Yes, Everyone will have it. Your grandchildren are not at risk.

Your grandchildren are at greater risk driving to the doctor than they are when they get Covid.

Your grandchildren are at risk of leukemia, too. And lightning strikes. Covid is not dangerous to them. It's silly to even think about them or their outcomes or their risk. There isn't any.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

You’ve bought into the madness. Liberal mindset is that of a sheep

No, it's sad. It's sad that she puts herself above the welfare of her daughter and grandkids.

I got the initial shot on my first day of eligibility; in fact, I had to "cheat" the Walgreens website by lying about my age so that I would have an appointment scheduled the next day. I then got the second and the booster as prescribed. The only side effect was a sore arm which was more than offset by my being able to spend time with my family.

Call me a pusillanimous if you want but as a parent and grandparent you sometimes have to do things for your kids that you may not want to. Like sitting through a preschool graduation.

My son works for a major pharmaceutical company and has plenty of home testing kits.

You're not a pusillanimous. You have no concept of risk. You're upending your life to avoid a risk that doesn't exist.

Here it is in your own state. https://www.health.ny.gov/press/releases/2022/docs/pediatric_covid-19_hospitalization_report.pdf

PEAK hospitalizations for kids with covid (many of whom aren't even symptomatic and test positive) is 1 per 100,000.

1 per 100,000 at its peak, and not even all those are real!

Read the chart. Stop freaking out. This is official NYS data. They are scaring you for NO reason.
